World Bible School is a FREE correspondence school. World Bible School has students in almost every country of the world. Right now, nearly 2 million people are enrolled in studies with WBS. More and more people like you are enrolling everyday. WBS is ministered and supported by local churches and individual ministers, teachers, evangelists, and missionaries. As an outreach ministry of the Valparaiso Church of Christ, WBS is being taught by 7 members of the congregation with nearly 100 students enrolled.
The Bible is our subject. In a world with billions of books, only one is called "The Book." (A s you will soon see, there are good reasons for that name). No education in life is complete without it. WBS helps to satisfy your hunger for the very best kind of spiritual food.
This School uses correspondence. Your Study Helper, will mail the free Bible courses to you. Mail your completed answer sheet back to the Study Helper for grading. If you qualify for the next course, that will then be posted to you. Correspondence has a very special advantage - Its flexible. You choose where and when you study. Some enjoy the privacy of their own homes. Others like to get together with friends. The important thing is finding the way to meet your learning needs best.
WBS does not require that answers be returned by a set time. WBS encourages you to set the time you need for a good, clear understanding of the Bible. Study questions encourage you to answer from what you have seen for yourself in Scripture. You are not made to feel that you must give someone else's view.
In the last 20 years the number of WBS students has climbed steadily into the millions. Yet WBS has never charged any student for the courses. There are no fees of any kind. WBS Study Helpers are volunteers. They receive no pay for this service to you. The millions of fine study booklets and certificates do add up to a great cost. Who pays for it all? Study Helpers and other Christian friends do. Now you know why we say you are going to meet a friend. There is someone who cares enough to serve you, and to share something valuable with you. The value of WBS has nothing to do with worldly wealth. WBS offers no earthly gifts or prizes. It offers one thing -- Good knowledge of the Bible. That is the treasure, which more and more people are seeking and finding.

| History of WBS WBS courses were first written by Christians from the Lawrence Avenue church of Christ in Tennessee in the 1950's. The initial lessons were written for Christians serving in the armed forces overseas. As these service men and women began to share their Bible studies with their fellow soldiers who were not in Christ, the Lawrence Avenue church found their purpose growing from encouragement and strengthening to evangelism. Today WBS continues to send Bible study correspondence courses to students through the postal mail, by email, and on the world wide web. WBS courses are sent free-of-charge to students around the world. It is estimated that WBS has 2 million postal students. Churches have been established and precious souls have been taught and saved in 168 countries around the world. Teachers and evangelists around the world join hands through paper, pen and prayer to proclaim the peace of Christ. |
History of WBS iNTERNET
Among the first Web Bible studies, WBS-I emailed its first lessons to students on August 15, 1995. Within a year, WBS had developed a web site and was receiving hundreds of new students. Our 5th anniversary brought forth a new, professionally designed web site that continues to lead the way in global internet evangelism. WBS-I enrolls thousands of students each month from around the world. The latest communication tools build online spiritual relationships as teachers share news and tips on the WBS Teachers mailing list. WBS-I administrators and teachers meet in chat rooms to pray for their students. Students are taught and encouraged via email, instant messaging, discussion boards and chat rooms. Follow-up information is more readily retrieved and delivered than any time in WBS history. Visit the WBS website! |
