Major Accomplishments for 2000
|
Thanks
to every one who helped out this past year on the various projects, here
is just a sampling of what we did: 1.
Would you believe we started work on the south retaining wall
exactly one year ago? Thanks to every one who helped with it and a
special thanks to Doug Mathews. Also, you may notice numerous piles of
black dirt around the property--a friend of Doug's donated this dirt to
us. 2.
Added 2700 additional "watts" of lighting for the front
of the auditorium. The communion table or stage left/right can be
precisely targeted with minimal collateral lighting on the screen. 3.
Auditorium furnaces have had their "intake air"
connected to the auditorium ceiling. 4.
Office phone system converted to digital system. Nice work Phil
Frailey! 5.
The Ceiling projector installed last April.
6.
Door bell / intercom system is currently being installed by Don
Oberholzer. 7.
A VCR was installed this past summer in the control room.
8.
The awning in the front of the building got "crunched"
and it was finally repaired this past October.
9.
Additional air conditioners were installed for some of the lower
level classrooms. 10.
The kitchen was totally renovated. Thanks Gene Page and all of
his many helpers. 11.
Total renovation of the offices. Thanks to Kim Jarrett for her
many hours of work on this big job.
12.
Most ceiling tiles that were stained have been repainted (just a
few remain to be taken care of). 13.
Second coat of paint on the back wall was applied this past
spring. 14.
Added a BBQ grill near the kitchen.
15.
Added a door for youth minister.
16.
Added sound deadening material to some of the cold air returns
in basement--notice any improvement in the furnaces noise levels during
Wednesday night services? 17.
Many, many small repairs: toilets, baptistery pumps, P.A.
speakers, windows, refinish old podium in the main auditorium. A
final THANKS to Judy Page for her many hours of service
as our Janitor and Mike Tichenor Sr. for his care of our lawn. Next
year you can expect to see improvements in: baptistery lighting,
completion of fluorescent light installation in the remaining restrooms,
continued refinement of stage and auditorium lighting, interior door
modifications, bathroom stall and toilet improvements, and continued
interior painting to hopefully |
