Reason By Faith

We need to learn to reason by faith, most of our plans and thinking center round ourselves. Hebrews 1:17-19 gives us some clues to concerning this fact. Read through a magnifying glass and look for the hints of Abraham's thoughts:
By faith Abraham, when God tested him, offered Isaac as a sacrifice. He who had received the promises was about to sacrifice his one and only son, even though God had said to him, "It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned." Abraham reasoned that God could raise the dead, and figuratively speaking, he did receive Isaac back from death.

The Key: Abraham reasoned by faith. He refused to use worldly reasoning to understand what God can do or is doing in our lives. Abraham believed that God would provide even before he saw the provision. Abraham received the provision possibly because he was committed to doing the will of God.  He thought God would never take him where he would not take care of him. Abraham believed God's promise to provide a great nation through Isaac...even if God had to raise him from the dead.

We are filled with the powerful Spirit of God. He leads us to do seemingly impossible feats by his power. Abraham and Sarah had a baby when their bodies were well past any ability to bear children. Abraham lived in the presence of God. This life fortified Abraham's faith for any test and his faith was enlarged in direct proportion to the size of the test he was about to encounter.
