If you missed the announcement of the opportunity
to help homeless children in Ghana, let me bring you up to date.
Lena Mawby made us aware of the efforts sponsored by the Traverse City
congregation in Michigan to build cottages for children in Ghana who are
orphaned. Our children in the Bible hour and others have been buying
blocks at a cost of $2.00 per block for the homes. A paper block
wall is being constructed in our hallway. If you would like to buy
a block in honor of someone, please put $2.00 per block in an envelope
and put it in the collection plate, put it in the announcement box near
the front office, or give it to someone who helps in Bible Hour.
This opportunity will last only through the summer months.
Wouldn't it be great to build a wall or even
a cottage for these parentless children? What on opportunity God's
church has! To give a child a home, to introduce them to God, to
provide God's love in their lives...Our prayer is that you will give a
block.
We have wonderful opportunities to help around
the world with doors that are opening. May God give us a heart for
those who need Christ in our town and around the world.
How our children are growing! Several
have moved up to young adulthood. I want our teens to know that we
are proud of them and the spirit they show in class. I am blessed
to have the opportunity to be with the High School group on Wednesday evenings.
The group is great! Let me encourage you with these words:
"Praise the Lord, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his Holy name.
Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits who forgives
all your sins and heats all your diseases, who redeems your life from the
pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires
with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's." Psa.

Village of Hope Update
(Remember the Wall!)
Remember two years ago when you bought the bricks to build the wall for a children’s home in Ghana? The project was capped off with a special Sunday when Fred Asare the African preacher spoke to us and we collected a total of $1,800 to help build a cottage? On Sunday, March 26th, Josiah Tilton from Searcy, Arkansas will be here to tell us about the additional buildings that are under construction and the work at that place. Josiah is with International Health Care Foundation, the organization in the U. S. that oversees that work. Two years ago the cost of a cottage was $16,000. Our congregation has decided to fund ¼ the cost of a cottage, or $4,000. The check will be presented to brother Tilton while he is here. We are inviting individual members to make personal donations that day if it is a work that touches your heart and you want to make an additional gift.
