In our effort
to build godly relationships which will lead to a more faithful congregation,
it is easy for us to get intimidated, and frustrated. After all,
how do we struggle through all of the varied problems that are facing us
individually and corporately, as Christians? Who is equal to this
task of calling non-believers to Christ, and believers to repentance?
How can we offer answers to people when we’re not always sure what the
answers are?
The
answer is love; at least that was the answer that Paul gave the Corinthians
in 1 Cor. 13. Paul had to deal with a congregation that had some
distorted views of spirituality. He had to counteract some serious
spiritual pride and egotism. Paul sought to call these Christians
back to their original focus, love. You see, it was love that caused
God to send his Son to die for you and me. It was the answer that
no one would have ever thought of. But it was the answer that love
demanded. It is the same for you and me. When we strive to
serve in this community, we will face seemingly insurmountable problems.
There will be problems for which there seem to be no answers, but love
will provide an answer. If you’re facing a problem right now, and
you don’t know how to handle it, read 1 Cor. 13, and pray. God will
give you the answer, and love will be manifested.
In His
Service,
Ethan
